Flowers, Centerpieces and Twinkling Lights...

In real life, planning a wedding takes time, effort, MONEY (uugh) and a lot of decision making. I'm not fond of making decisions, and here I am, in the middle of a continuous process filled with decision that are ultimately mine to make! AH! Here is just an idea of some of the decisions I'm still up against:

My bouquet. There are HUNDREDS of flowers in the world and I know little to nothing about them. How do I know what kinds you can mix together? I don't even have a favorite flower really. But despite my lack of floral smarts, I've actually narrowed it down to two different flower choices! Which I won't tell you so you can be surprised. :)

Then there's centerpieces. What a pain that's been! You google the kind of centerpieces you're wanting and there's so many pictures they start to look the same. I see all the pictures, I have an idea of what I want and still feel like I have no idea what to do! But after a recent shopping trip with "Cornelia" I think I figured it out!

Also there is twinkling lights. I want them at my reception bad...but again with the pictures! So many options, what do I choose? Yet again...I figured it out! Perhaps decision making is slowly becoming a bit easier for me!

Recently, one of my dear cousins, (we'll call him "Favorite. Many will know who I mean.) said something to me to the effect of: "maybe people are making it [weddings] to hard." With all our flowers, centerpieces, twinkling lights, cake, etc...maybe we are. But even with all the planning and decision making, in real life...it's fun. :)

In Real Life, Who am I?

I would consider myself to be an easy going, fun loving, kind and caring person. This may be true, but at the root of my being I'm nothing more than a wicked sinner. The good news is, I'm a sinner saved by the grace of God and the blood of Jesus from the punishment of death that I deserve! God's grace sustains me everyday. I still sin, still fail to obey my Savior and sometimes I still go my own way instead of listening for His voice. Living for the Lord is a continual, sanctifying process in my life and I have to pray daily for God's strength and help to overcome sin and live for Him. Because of His perfect patience, Jesus forgives my short comings, He picks me up daily when I fail and loves me still. My prayer is to become more Christ-like and godly everyday.

So what else makes up who I am? Well, I am a bride to be VERY soon and I'm so excited about it! God has blessed me with an amazing man that loves me as I am, wants to spend his life with me and lead me by God's word. He is my friend, my confidant, my hero and my airman. Yep, he's a cadet in the Air Force ROTC...preeeetttty cool! Yes, I love him to death! <3
I'm also a big sister, to John and Ryan, two of the best guys you will ever meet. When we were younger, of course we bickered and argued sometimes but as we've gotten older, we've gotten closer and we've been through a lot together. John is the first of my younger brothers and he has grown up to be quite the man of God, I'm proud to say. He is the more serious one of the boys but he still knows how to have fun and crack a joke. I think he's a pastor in training in a lot of ways...we will see what God's plan is. Ryan is the "baby" of the family...though he's the tallest of everyone! This kid is one of the hardest workers I've ever met and he's only 17. It surprises some to know that Ryan is a deep thinker. He is growing into quite the man of God himself, but a little differently than John, he tends to take things in that the people around him say about everything from God, scriptures, relationships, etc. and when you get him alone, he will unload quite a wealth of knowledge! He is definitely a funny guy too. I love these two boys probably more than they really realize.
I also have the privilege of being a friend to a lot of great people. There's my two long time best friends that we'll call Cornelia and P.I.C (for now). And my friends we'll call Loves to Organize and Country Mom. (for now) There is also my newest and I think quickly becoming another best, Dancing Buddy. (for now)

Yes, God has blessed me with much in this life and I am SO grateful!
